Here at Rebecca Dawe, we are all for shopping locally, especially when it comes to weddings. With a to do list as long as your arm, you don’t want to have to trek between appointments, or want to pay extra for certain wedding services to travel to your home or venue. Services such as hairdressers and wedding photographers may have to charge for travel outside their local area as fuel costs are so high these days!
Obviously, when looking for wedding photographers in Leicestershire, you need look no further than us at Rebecca Dawe Photography! But where do you look for other local wedding services? This blog series will hopefully cover local wedding services such as venues, cakes, wedding dresses and more. You can imagine how many weddings we’ve been to locally – we definitely have our favoured suppliers!
The first instalment of this series was Local Wedding Services In Leicestershire – Wedding Photographers. This second post will be about the all important wedding dress!
One wedding dress shop in Leicestershire which we particularly recommend is the Wedding Dress Factory Outlet. They sell a wide range of designer wedding dresses without the hefty price tag. You can buy your dream wedding dress for up to 75% less than the retail price. Almost all the wedding gowns are brand new, with a small percentage having been used once in photoshoots or on catwalks. There are no seconds at all – the reason they can offer these dresses so heavily discounted is because they come directly from the designers or manufacturers who have excess stock due to discontinuation of lines, cancelled orders, unused samples and even one off designs. The Wedding Dress Factory Outlet also stocks some new designers’ dresses who want to offer beautiful bridalwear that is affordable for everyone. Lastly, they even run a competition via Facebook to win a free wedding dress each month!
These days, many of us prefer to shop locally, and our weddings are certainly no exception. When you have a to do list as long as your arm, you don’t want to have to travel far between appointments, or have to pay extra for certain wedding services to travel to our home or venue. Services such as hairdressers and wedding photographers have to charge for travel outside their local area as fuel costs are so high these days!
Obviously, when looking for wedding photographers in Leicestershire, you need look no further than us at Rebecca Dawe Photography! But where do you look for other local wedding services? We are hoping to start a little blog series covering local wedding services such as venues, cakes, wedding dresses and more. You can imagine how many weddings we’ve been to locally – we definitely have our favourite suppliers!
Customer service is of the utmost importance to us as we know that your wedding day is something you are very excited about! No matter which package you choose, all our brides and grooms receive exceptional service. We have over 20 years experience in wedding photography, and we are still just as passionate about it. We always look to capture the unique emotions of the day, and combine a modern contemporary look with timeless, traditional aspects.
Before you choose us as your wedding photographers, we would meet you in our Burbage studio to discuss all your needs. We offer a variety of packages, so there is sure to be one to suit your budget. We can start the day by documenting the bride’s preparations, and if you choose, we can stay right until the first dance is completed.
The weather is the one thing the bride cannot control, but most of us will try to choose their wedding date with it in mind. No matter what the weather on the day, your wedding photographer should know how to take some great shots, but it’s always good to know what to expect beforehand.
Summer – As wedding photographers in Leicestershire, we know sunny days can actually be quite rare, even in summer, but we don’t mind! Bright sunshine makes it harder to take good photos as it is hard to get the lighting right with such harsh daylight, and you get reflections from every window or pair of spectacles. And let’s not talk about how many shots are ruined by a guest squinting! Pre-wedding photos may need to be taken earlier in the morning, before the light gets too bright, and we like to save some couple shots for later in the afternoon, in the hope of getting some sunset pictures.
Spring/Autumn – I’m lumping these together because they both tend to have lots of cloudy or rainy days. Admittedly Spring will have the odd sunny day, but that poses the same problems as in Summer! The good news for nervous brides is that we actually prefer slightly overcast conditions as it’s easier to take better pictures.
We’ve all heard about someone getting married on a budget who has a friend who has a camera…the thing is, there’s a bit more to successful wedding photography than just being able to hold a camera and press a button.
Even the most basic, traditional wedding photos take some practice to get right. Have you ever tried to get 20 or more people all to look in the same direction, at the same time, so you can take their picture, without any of them blinking or pulling a funny face, when all they really want to do is chat to people they haven’t seen in months or years? I bet it doesn’t sound quite so simple when I put it like that! Wedding photography is just as much about people management as it is about taking a good picture. And I haven’t even touched on making sure that picture is in focus!
Obviously, if you’re choosing a wedding photographer in Leicestershire, we hope that you will come and talk to us at Rebecca Dawe Photography! But whether you do or not, here are some tips for what to look out for.
